Ive used Henchmen for 85% of the missions and Quests I've done

Some make sure that people can't list that sort of stuff on ebay, since they DO take actions against it.

It's funny that this argument even takes place in a game like GW. I remember finding an Icy Short Bow of Enchanting and was super pumped. I later found a another Long Sword of equal value. Drops in this game are easy to come buy and even at later stages in the game it only takes an hour or so to level. If this were WOW or EQ I can actually understand the outrage. Those games require a level of time investment that makes you feel more attached to the overall game economy and preceding.

Guild Wars is not like that. Sure you may have a RP character or two that you invest a lot of time doing quests and such, but that character is indistinguishable if not inferior to an equivalent PVP created character. In addition, gold is so easy to get once you reach LA that I almost applaud the ingenuity of the individuals able to capitalize on other's ignorance about the type of game this is.

I equate the whole process in this particular game to paying for game saves in the console world.....

What if when you went to Best buy or some other store they said, "For only $15 more you can start off with 10K gold in Final Fantasy 13 (or other RP game)" ? I doubt many people would do it. It's actually quite funny.

Of and if anyone is interested, I will gladly bring any character you want to level 20 for a very affordable price! Just PM me and we can talk... =)

coolest things on ebay that are guildwars are ... the 6' cardboard dealer cutouts of the necromancer, the T-Shirt and the Artbook.

Without a doubt. If people refrain from buying from these guys (I might also add that their ebay rating seems rather dubious as well), you may see the popularity of selling items online drop.

Also ... if you shell out for 10-30K gold for more than what you paid for this game your an idiot.

Yes, anyone who spends money on something they enjoy is pathetic. Remember that next time you spend money at the arcade, an amusement park or purchasing a video game. After-all, it is virtual crap.

Rage, I use henchman but i'd rather not solo all the time or I would just go play my PS2. I just like to play the game and enjoy myself, im not out to rule Tyria.

Edit: And as for the spending more on gold then the game guy, I spent 91 dollars on Guild Wars CE and overnight shipping. So I have a long way to go.

you would have to be stupid to buy ingame money in anygame , especially guildwars for that matter, 50k isnt gonna do jack for you... The 15k armor isnt really that awesome. Buying a guild sigil is around 30k right now...if u have a GUILD gathering the money isnt that hard... with 10 people thats 3k a person. People just hav too much money IRL, i could care less if they buy stuff online.

Unfortunately there will always be those who have no gaming skill, and must therefor buy what they are too inferior to achieve themselves. These are the lowest saps in MMOs.

Hi there all! I'm new to the forum, so please give me the warmest welcome

On Ebay and that: I think it's ridiculous that people go in and waste money for their own "Pleasures" and try to ruin the game like those [CENSORED]s did in D2 and even Sacred Plus!

I hope that Arena.Net and NCSoft make sure that this is done as harshly as possible, and hopefully, ban that user's account completely from playing Guild Wars (I think that's WHY they used the E-mail account idea in the first place)

Heh, in D2 everyone had gold (i.e. no one needed it) this game gold is alot harder to come by (for new players). I also dont want the prices of everything to sky-rocket. This is a MAJOR turn of to the casual player.

To the guy that dosent think he is hurting the eco, to true and if it was you and only you I would see little problem with this. If this starts full-swing (wich I pray to god that it dosent) there will be many people doing the exact same thing. That is what hurts the eco, not individual people.

Having the best armor possible and the best weapon you can find is great and all but with this game Strategy is where its at.

Very astute. Only a matter of time until the public as a whole figures out that gold just really doesn't have much value in this game--no scarcity at any level up the ladder, that I can detect (and the item market is certainly scant). Got your money early, before word got around.

Of course there will always be plenty of stupid people to prey upon, so I'm sure you'll get to bilk some more teenagers.

There are plenty of people out there that say the same mean, derogatory comments about all of you as a whole. Some would say that you would have to be a total loser to spend $60 on a video game to begin with. They would say you have no skill in real social activities because you hide behind a computer screen. Honestly the majority would say that of asked in an open poll I’m sure. Look in the mirror before sitting down with you bag of chips, coke and hot pockets for an 8 hour gaming session that you will have absolutely nothing to show for when you get up and walk away. Making fun of someone in your community instead of trying to come to some understanding of their point of view and working together for compromises that could in the end enhance everyone’s play is ridicules, and the rest of the world, if they ever even bothered to care would laugh hilariously at the hypocrisy of it.

I can see in EQ/EQ2 et all where it takes a long time to get somewhere and takes a long time to play a single session. But GW is so much so that casual players should have fun as well.

I never understood buying virtual items, etc. Maybe because I live by that it's not the destination, but the journey. I enjoy a sense of accomplishment.

Too much of an instant gratification world we live in these days.

I have yet to see another Pevil on the internet so yes, that would be me

In this game at least (not so much others) i see no 'problem' that this would cause me. I just wonder at the mentality of these people who buy a game only to not play it. Truly why buy the game? Why not just 'sponsor' someone for £40 who WANTS to play the game, and get them to give their character your name. That way you paid for the game, they get it for free and they get the enjoyment of playing it. Meanwhile you get the satisfaction of sitting at home knowing this character you had NOTHING to do with, is level 20, has the best armour and is slaughtering their way through PvP.

Gamers. Note that, gamers. Not buyers.

I think it is a basic misunderstanding that all people that buy, go out and but 100s of dollars of stuff. Most people I knew when playing Lineage 2 would send an extra 20-40 bucks every couple of months to boost their adena count for that next level of equipment that they would otherwise not get for months and months if they tried to farm the cash on their schedule. I agree that it would seem silly to buy gold in guild wars, at least for what it is going for now, and I think that you will see most other buyers will think the same think and in a few months companies like IGE will be sitting on a lot of gold they can’t move. Then you will see 10k gold for 10 bucks or 5 bucks. It is a supply and demand market, which will not change, if something is easy to get it will be cheep. I promise you those companies are about making money and if there is no profit in gold in guild wars they won’t be selling it long.
